Updated status as per September 07, 2011
After having sold the first four projects of our wind park pipeline to Iberdrola Renovables, S.A., we currently are in the process of getting more of the projects in Dobrogea permitted.
The projects in Mihai Viteazu, which were sold to Iberdrola Renovables, S.A., have an installed electrical power of 80 MW. They are under construction and will come online in the first quarter of 2012. These projects will be connected to the Enel substation at Mihai Viteazu on the 110 kV level.
All our other wind energy developments will be connected at Tariverde to the 400 kV grid, where the engineers of our contracted engineering companies planned a new, large scale transformer station totaling some 1’500 MW. This station received the final construction licence several months ago and is ready to be constructed by our contractual partner Iberdrola Renovables, S.A. The corresponding final negotiations with Transelectrica SA are almost completed, meaning that construction will start within the coming months.
While we obtained the ATR and the grid connection contract for the first tranche of 600 MW out of the 1’500 MW grid connection capacity, we still await the issuance of the ATR for the second tranche of another 600 MW. This is scheduled to be issued in favour of our entity within the coming weeks.
Our wind park development for more than 1’000 MW in Dobrogea is well under way. Wind measurements on measuring masts and with our own LIDAR technology, cadastral surveys, topographical work, layout of wind parks, substations, overhead lines and all other project related work are ongoing and progressing well. In the municipality of Cogealac, where also our new 1’500 MW transformer station will be constructed (see above), we expect to receive final construction licences for several of our wind parks within the coming months.
The major part out of our project pipeline has been purchased by Iberdrola Renovables, S.A., Spain. Apart from these projects, we are developing several new wind energy projects on green-field sites, which we have initiated during the years of 2007 and 2008. For these projects with a total electrical power of several 100 MW, we can also see a significant progress in the permitting processes. These projects will also be linked to the new Tariverde transformer station, where in total three transformers, each of them with 550 mVA, are planned.
Most of our green-field projects in Dobrogea are not yet contracted to an investor / operator and therefore can be acquired by interested parties in which stage whatever.
In the meantime, all the wind turbines of the wind energy project Mihai Viteazu in Romania, which was developed by us, are installed.more
After the minor delays caused by the extreme weather conditions in this year, the construction works at the 80 MW wind farm Mihai Viteazu have been taken up again.more
