During the past ten years, wind power has become increasingly interesting to governments, utilities, electricity producers, traders and multi national companies. Worldwide, it has already become an important part of power generation in a number of countries, while others still have to explore and apply this technology.

After years of double-digit growth worldwide, there is now installed about 110’000 MW of wind energy, out of which Europe takes the lead with more than 65’000 MW. Until now, Romania has developed less than 10 MW of installed wind power. Due to so little wind energy being developed in Romania, Eolica Dobrogea (Schweiz) AG was established in order to respond professionally, comprehensively and strongly to wind energy developments for this new member of the EC.

Eolica Dobrogea (Schweiz) AG is therefore the owner and sole holder of all the rights for Romanian wind energy projects that are under development by the affiliated companies of NEK Romania AG, C-Tech S.r.l. and Eolica Doborgea S.r.l. The involved companies intend to participate only in the development of the wind energy sector in Romania.
